A LEGACY OF BAKING EXCELLENCE
Miya's Munchies is a small bakery in Magnolia, TX. It is owned and operated by the mother/son duo; Sumiyyah & Khaliq. Miya's may have begun in 2018 but it was over 30 years in the making. Throughout her childhood, Sumiyyah's parents owned several French bakeries, which is where she learned to bake. Fast forward to summer of 2018, the entire family took an extended trip to Europe. This life changing trip would be catalyst for Miya's Munchies as it both inspired and reminded Sumiyyah of both her childhood as well as her goals and dreams; to have her own bakery like her parents.
OUR FOUNDER
SUMIYYAH HARVEY
Sumiyyah, or Miya, of Miya's Munchies, has been baking since she was a child. She truly has a passion for baking; especially Pot Pies. One of her earliest memories from her moms first bakery was making a chicken pot pie from scratch with her mom. Sumiyyah prides herself on making each and every step not only from scratch, but by hand. When she is not baking, Sumiyyah loves to travel and create new adventures with Khaliq.
VICE-PRESIDENT
KHALIQ HARVEY
As a part owner of Miya’s Munchies, Khaliq has helped with the business since day one. Making hundreds of biscuits a week, he realized he had a true passion for culinary arts. He is now working on a degree in Business at the University of St. Thomas, which he plans to to use to propel his company forward. When he's not in the kitchen, you can find him at his favorite place, the track. Khaliq is also a full time athlete for UST, specializing in Hurdles and High Jump.
